Virginia McKenna writes:
Making Born Free with my late husband Bill, working with the Adamsons and learning so much about lions — and now working for wildlife around the world with Born Free USA and the Born Free Foundation, have been some of the greatest highlights of my life.
I cannot say how thrilled I am that PBS featured “Elsa’s Legacy: The Born Free Story” in January 2011 on its “Nature” series, and that the documentary is available on DVD (60 minutes, one disc). It is a story that simply has to be told and it sends a warning roar across the airwaves letting us know that we are perilously close to losing something that we, deep down, value so much — the world’s wild places and the wild creatures, such as lions, that still inhabit them.

I have a personal favor to ask: Please don’t let this warning be ignored.
There is still time to save and protect our natural world for future generations. There is still time to stop the exploitation that threatens it and the suffering endured by so many animals at our hand.
Please watch “Elsa’s Legacy: The Born Free Story.” George Adamson asked once: “Who will raise their voices, when mine is carried away on the wind?” The answer is all those who care enough to support Born Free. Will you be one of them? I do hope so.
Thank you so very much.
